Space Availability - Clear Lake Campus

Neumann Library provides areas that can be reserved for public events.  Our public gathering spaces are an elaboration on and extension of our desire to engage and inspire intellectual exchange between students, faculty, staff and our community around research, philosophical, and academic conversations. The library reserves the right to host events that fit within our obligation and our mission to the university.

Who is eligible to reserve an event space?

UHCL colleges or departments, the President's office, the Provost's office, and student organizations with faculty advisor sponsorship.

What can the space be used for?

Intended uses include research or book-related readings, presentations, panel discussions, and round tables. Prohibited uses include meetings, parties, dinners, music, and film screenings.

Can I use spaces for private events?

Events in library spaces must be open to all library visitors.  For private meetings, please use a study/meeting room.

Can food be served at my event?

Light snacks and refreshments such as hor d'oeuvres, cookies, coffee, and water may be served at events. If any food is not being provided AND served by UHCL Dining, then the event organizer must send the library an approved Temporary Food Permit no less than three business days prior to the event. Please visit Environmental, Health and Safety for more information about obtaining food permits.
